When people first hear about treatments like Reiki, Indian Head Massage or holistic facials, one of the most common questions is:

“Do they actually work?”

And it’s a fair question.

Because on the surface, they can look like something that’s just “nice” or relaxing.

But in reality, they can have a much deeper impact than many people realise.

The missing piece most people don’t consider

Most people try to manage stress through thinking.

Organising more. Planning more. Pushing through.

But stress isn’t just mental.

It’s physical.

When your body is under pressure, your nervous system shifts into a state of alert often called “fight or flight”.

This is useful in short bursts, but when it becomes your normal state, it can lead to:

  • feeling constantly on edge

  • struggling to switch off

  • disrupted sleep

  • tension in the body

  • emotional overwhelm

This is where holistic treatments come in.

They don’t just help you “relax”.

They help your body come out of that constant state of stress.

What happens during a holistic treatment

One of the biggest misconceptions is that treatments are passive.

In reality, your body is doing a lot during that time.

Holistic Facials

These combine skincare with relaxation techniques to support both your skin and your nervous system.

They’re not just about how your skin looks they’re about how you feel.

Many clients describe this as a full reset, leaving them feeling calm, refreshed and rebalanced.

Why this matters more than ever

We live in a world where we’re constantly “on”.

Busy schedules. Mental load. Pressure to keep going.

And while we often try to manage this through mindset alone, the body also needs support.

Taking time to slow down isn’t a luxury.

It’s a way of helping your body function properly again.
